Frequently asked questions
If a user behaves inappropriately in your eyes (e.g. by using a criminal display image or inappropriate behaviour, etc.) you can report them by clicking on the profile picture of the user you wish to report. Go to the three-dot menu at the top right and click on Report user.
PLEASE NOTE: Reporting a user is only for the protection of other users and should only be done in the case of inappropriate behaviour. The evaluation of the driving performance or other aspects of participating in a carpool can be done via the star system.
To finalise your registration, we will send you an email with a verification link. To form carpools, you will also need to verify your phone number, which you will receive by text message.
It may take a few minutes to be sent. Please wait about 10 minutes and then check your inbox again. Also check your spam folder. Please note that (if you click several times) only the last e-mail or SMS sent is valid.
If you have not received an e-mail or SMS after 10 minutes and there is nothing in your spam folder, please contact us by e-mail at

In order to reward you for your climate-friendly activity and determine how much CO₂ you have helped to save, we need to make sure that the activity took place as you specified. To do this, we need your location and your movement data.
To make it easier for people who want to ride together to find each other at the meeting point, we will show you each other's locations. This can only be done if you share your location.
The free additional insurance for car pools only applies if there is a GPS signal for the duration of your journey together.
All data is only processed to the extent that it is necessary for the use of the app. You can find more information in the General Terms and Conditions.
The use of the ummadum app is free of charge for users. Environmental partners (municipalities and companies) purchase mobility budgets from ummadum and make them available to users on a monthly basis. For this purpose, the user has to join the community of the respective environmental partner.
By allowing the ummadum app to access your location, it enables us to track your activities and help you with specific problems. This is the only way we can give you the appropriate rewards. The ummadum app can also use location tracking to recognise whether you have actually arrived at your specified destination. Please note that your location data is handled in accordance with the highest data protection standards and is used exclusively for customer support.
Please note that ummadum only accesses your location when you carry out an activity.

ummadum is an Austrian mobility platform that aims to promote sustainable commuting and environmentally friendly transport. The platform incentivises users by rewarding car sharing, public transport use, cycling and walking. The aim of ummadum is to reduce traffic, reduce the burden on the environment and promote healthy, active modes of transport.
You can download the ummadum app from the Play Store or App Store. It is currently available in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, and Italy.
The following links will take you directly to the Play Store or App Store, where you can download the app:
Your activities are only shared with carpoolers/drivers so that you can find each other. Neither other users nor community administrators can see your activities. ummadum analyses activities to determine whether they have taken place correctly. Activity data is stored for three months and, if necessary (customer support requests), analysed by ummadum in compliance with the highest data protection standards. Administrators of a community receive an overview of all activities of the community in the ummadum portal, but not of the number or type of activities of individual users.
The use of e-bikes and e-scooters is also permitted for the ‘Bike/Scooter’ activity type. We are guided by the road traffic regulations of the respective country, in which these vehicles are precisely defined. When using ummadum, please ensure that they comply with the following definition:
- Electric scooters: Small and micro scooters with a design speed of no more than 25 km/h.
- Electric bicycles (‘e-bikes’): Bicycles with an additional electric drive with a design speed of up to 25 km/h.
Legally, both vehicles are treated in the same way as bicycles. If it is a vehicle with drive or pedal assistance up to 45 km/h or if the maximum permitted power is exceeded, it is legally defined as a motorcycle. The corresponding additional legal requirements then apply to this vehicle and use with ummadum is no longer possible.
Please note that national regulations may differ slightly. Further information depending on the country can be found here:
