Since beginning of September there is a new version of the ummadum app available in stores to download. Even if you already had an account in the old version of the ummadum app, you need to register again to create a new account.

As ummadum driver you don't have to pay income taxes because the costs for driving are higher than the collected ummadum points. Even the legal expenses of 42 cent per kilometer plus 5 cent per passenger is higher than ummadum points from 4 passengers. By specifying your location, the ummadum app can understand where the driver and passenger are while driving together. Specifying the location helps drivers and passengers to meet even more easily. In addition, free additional insurance for the car pool is only effective when the location is released. You save CO2 with every shared kilometer and therefore the approval for mapping the common trips is essential and mandatory. This data is only processed insofar as it is necessary for the use of the ummadum app.

ummadum ridesharing

With "Share trip" you can choose from your last trips and offer them again. Select the desired route from the last trips and click on it. The app automatically takes over the start and end point of the shared trip.
You can find your most recent searches under "Find a ride" in the bottom bar of the screen. Click the search query you want. The app automatically starts and ends the search.
Yes, you can save fixed points from or to which you often drive in the menu under "My Places". As soon as you want to share or search a trip, you can choose from the saved locations by clicking on the "X" next to it when entering the route at the start or destination. The app will then suggest the selection of your saved locations. So you can share or search your trip even faster.
As a driver, if you don't start your ride, your passengers won't get a notification that you are on your way and they also won't see your geolocation. You can also start the trip right before you pick up your passengers. In this case we may contact you after the trip. You may not get points as a result.

You can contact your driver or passenger in the app by phone or SMS. For safety reasons, this is only possible for a limited period before, during and after the journey

If you as a driver want to cancel a published or requested trip, select the trip concerned and click on "Cancel this trip". Passengers which sent a request are receiving a push notification to be informed that the ride had been canceled. Drivers who have already confirmed the request from passengers will be informed by push message that the ride has been canceled. Trips without passengers or trips that have not started will be automatically canceled after some time.

If a user behaves inappropriate (for example using a criminal image or inappropriate behaviour in general) you can report him via the app.
PLEASE NOTE: reporting a user conduces as protection of other users and should only be used in case of inappropriate behaviour. Rating driving performance or any other aspects of participating a ride can be done via our star rating system.

After every ride you can rate your driver/passenger with a "star system". The more stars you give, the better is the rating.

After completing the trip in the app, the ummadum points are distributed to the driver and passenger. If you forget to end the trip manually, the trip will automatically end after 2 hours and the points will be transferred. Before that, it is checked whether the journey was carried out correctly - the GPS data of the driver and the passengers are checked. It may also be the case that we contact you if there are any discrepancies or that the points received are posted back later.
As soon as the passenger has reached their destination, they can end the journey. The driver can end the journey at the destination. If the driver or passengers forget to end the journey, it will be ended automatically 2 hours after the planned end.
If someone wants to ride on one of your trips, you will receive a push message. You can either accept or reject requests. In both cases, the person who made the request will be informed. Ride requests are also displayed under "My trips" under the respective trip.

Enter the desired start and end point - either manually or you set the pin on the map. In the menu under "My Places" you can set fixed locations such as "Home" and "Work".

Enter your desired date and departure time and click "search".

If no suitable connection is available for you, alternatives with public transport will be displayed. You can also share the ride yourself.

Yes, you can insert the same ride for the upcoming 7 days easy and fast. If you create a trip, you can activate the option "Offer trip on additional days" by entering the date and time. Simply mark all days on which you repeat the trip and adjust the respective departure time if necessary.
ummadum-rides Um eine Fahrt zu teilen, muss deine Handynummer verifiziert und mindestens ein Fahrzeug hinterlegt sein. Du kannst eine neue „Fahrt teilen“ oder aus deinen letzten Fahrten auswählen. Start- und Zielpunkt deiner Fahrt kannst du entweder manuell eintippen oder mit dem Pin auf der Karte setzen. Bei Bedarf kannst du Wegpunkte auf deiner Route setzen, um MitfahrerInnen mitzunehmen. Im Menü unter „Meine Orte“ kannst du fixe Standorte wie „Zuhause“ und „Arbeit“ festlegen. Gib Datum und Abfahrtszeit deiner Fahrt ein. Stelle die Details zu deinem Fahrzeug ein und teile deine Fahrt. Du erhältst eine Benachrichtigung, wenn jemand bei dir mitfahren will.

If you want to ride on a ummadum ride, you need "UP to drive". You can buy them directly via the app. We offer you various point packages depending on how often and how far you want to ride along with. Just select the preferred point package and your preferred payment method. Now you have points!

ummadum help rides

With the ummadum app you can easily find ridesharing options or are able to offer or search for ”help rides”

If you are willing to offer a ”help ride”, you are agreeing to help people that are not able to leave their home or are under quarantine due to the Corona Crisis. You are offering to run errands for those and are willing to deliver to their homes.

When starting the app, you have two options: Offer and search for a “help ride” or offer and search for ridesharing.

You want to offer help? Select “share help ride” on the home screen and enter the route you are planning. If you have fixed addresses (home, work etc.) you can save those with “My places”. These locations will then be displayed to you when planning your trip. If you want to learn more, please navigate to “How can I set my places?”. Alternatively, just enter the details of your ride or choose them on the map.

On the start screen, select "search help ride" and enter the address to which your goods should be delivered to. If you tap the location icon to the right-hand side of the input field, your location will be automatically found. Alternatively, you can enter the address manually, select it on the map or choose one of your saved locations. In the menu, you can set fixed points, such as your home address or your work address, under "My places" by default. These are displayed when you enter your desired route to make your selection easier. If you want to know more about this, please read the FAQs "How can I set my places?”. In the "Search for a ride" view you can specify when you are looking for help by entering the date and time. Confirm with "Search". Well done! You have successfully looked for help! In the next screen "Help ride" you will see all the help rides that are offered within a radius of 10 km. You have the option of contacting your helper via "call user", "send SMS" or "Send confirmation email". We aim to make all help rides in your area transparent and available.

The details of the procurement itself, in particular the payment of the purchases made, is part of the agreement between helpers and those seeking help. Please agree upon them in advance to the help ride.

For civil / state initiatives, aid organizations or NGOs: Set up your planned trips in the ummadum app and let all those looking for help nearby and on your route know that you are able to support them.

Everyone else: It is important to stand strong together! We think it's great that you want to help! Do you drive to work every day because you are one of those brave people keeping our systems and infrastructure running? Then set this daily trip to and from work as a help ride and let those in need know that you could run errands on your way.

Your employer and / or your community can provide you with some of the points you need for ummadum journeys. You can find your possible partner points in your points overview after you have connected to the community. While booking a ride just choose your preferred partner and you get a predefined amount of points for the ride. So your costs for the ride get reduced. You can also buy points directly in the app. We offer various point packages depending on how often and how far you want to travel, just select the desired point package and pay with the payment method of your choice. You already have points and can drive ummadum!

Zeig den Code beim Zahlen an der Kasse. Bei manchen Händlern kannst du auch Teilbeträge einlösen, bei anderen nur alle Punkte. Bei Teileinlösungen musst du die eingelöste Summe noch bestätigen – damit ist die Punkteeinlösung abgeschlossen!

Insurance

You do not have to worry as a driver or as a passenger, because the legally required liability insurance also pays for passengers. You can get more information from your insurance company or from the ÖAMTC at: (https://www.oeamtc.at/thema/vergleich-strafen/fahrgemeinschaft-ist-kostteilungung-strafbar-16181058). Basically, as a driver or passenger, you are already well protected by statutory liability insurance. In addition, ummadum carpools are covered free of charge with the VAV insurance. The prerequisite for this is that the app has access to your GPS data for the duration of the journey together. Here you can find all information about the free occupant insurance from VAV.
